hike

  • Summer tourism is gaining more and more significance in the Alps. When the snow melts and brings out lush meadows, shady forests and rugged summits appear, Arlberg´s Mountains offer endless opportunities to be discovered. Thus, the network of hiking trails is well marked and 350 km long. It was even awarded with the Tyrolean Seal of Quality for Hiking Trails. Possibilities cover short excursions for families, challenging mountain hikes in high alpine territories and everything in between. There are also special trails perfectly suited for running and Nordic-walking. Those, who prefer to discover the area by bike will find a lot of trails and roads that lead through Arlberg`s beautiful mountain world. Those seeking for action and adventure might give Arlberg´s Rafting-, Canyoning- or Paragliding opportunities a try. And Arlberg´s swimming pools give refreshment during hot summer days. These possibilities form only a part of the vast variety of summer activities offered at the Arlberg.

  • Hiking

  • Also during summer time, the Arlberg is an attractive destination for mountain lovers. When the mountain sides become snow-free also the large network of hiking trails surfaces. More than 350 km optimally marked and maintained hiking trails lead through Arlberg´s gorgeous mountains. Mountain meadows abound with wildflowers and crystal clear mountain lakes and creeks border the path. Routes are varying what makes it easy to find the right tour for everyone. Cable cars, chairlifts and special hiking busses make the area optimally accessible. St. Anton was awarded with the Tyrolean Seal of Quality for Hiking Trails.

  • The Eagle Walk is a charming long- distance hiking trail across the Tyrol showing the marvelous beauty of this country. The last leg of the trail leads through the romantic Valley of Lech to St.Anton am Arlberg.

  • The `WunderWanderWeg´ is a unique hike for the whole family. The trails have been created in a very charming way with attention to detail. This hike will definitely activate all of your senses.

  • This trip is a 3 days hike in the surroundings of Lech-Zürs leading into a world of myths and legends. This modern culture- and art project stages regional characteristics in a modern and humorous way.

  • Also a leg of the famous `Jakobsweg´ traverses the Arlberg.

  • Additional to these theme walks, there are many more possibilities to discover Arlberg´s Mountains by foot. Children will be enthusiastic about a short walk to a lake or a creek – you might choose the promenade to the Lake Verwall. Other paths lead to cosy huts – like the Putzenalpe, the Nessleralm or the Rendlalm. Challenging mountain and climbing hikes delight alpinists and multi-day hikes, for example from Pettneu via the Edmund-Graf-hut and the Niederelbe-hut back to St.Anton, let hikers indulge in the quietness and fascination of Arlberg´s Mountains.
